We invite you to begin your study of yoga with us. Iyengar yoga begins with the learning of physical postures, asana and developing an awareness of our breath, prana. With dedication and devotion to our practice, we begin to experience the transformative nature of yoga. In the beginning this transformation is felt inwardly, but in time it expresses outwardly in how we treat ourselves and the world around us. This transformation is the ultimate gift of yoga.

Many of you are learning the Invocation to Patanjali. The chanting of AUM or the invocation at the start of each class is an opportunity to acknowledge that greater truths and teachings, not our finite intelligence, is the basis of our yoga practice.
